Club Run To Wollongong - 12.09.2004

Well, we were supposed to be going to Nowra, but we stuffed that up and went to Wollongong instead - and it turned out a good day, especially for allour kids.

Arriving at the Flagstaff Hill lighthouse in Wollongong, we parked the cars next to the beach, let the kids climb on cannons, and trotted down to the local fish and chip shop on the beach - really good fish and chips, albeit for the filthy, dirty, stinking "rat's with wings" that some might call seasgulls. I hate them. My kids give me their shoes to throw at them.

Anyway, after some lunch it was over to the biggest playground I've seen in a while and a game of touch footy in which Mike Sidney showed why he doesn't play professionally, and Paul forced a reading of 7.2 on the Richter scale as he hit the turf after a tackle by 2 small girls. 3 small girls if you count Paul.

Because we're pigs we finally left and sat in McCafe at the base of Mount Ousley for a while before flooring the Chariots up the hillpast everyone else.

If you've got kids, this was the run to come to. I had a great day, and it was nice drive to boot. As always, it'snot hard to come for a drive with the rest of us.....easy in fact. We just take the cars for a biut of a blurt and make a day of it - VERY informal. Such a pity more people don't come for a drive. Anyway, here's some pics. Not a huge turnout, but 5 cars nonetheless.

Thanks very much to those who came ......
