RALLY Information.

From Thursday 6th March to Sunday 9th March 2008, the R & S Chrysler Valiant Car Club of Victoria Inc has organised a National Rally of R & S Series Valiants (our 4th National Rally) which will congregate in Bendigo.

Valiants were introduced to Australia in January 1962 with the production of 1,008 R Series Valiants. Such was the success, in March 1962 the S Series Valiant was released with 10,009 being sold. The aim of the R & S Series Valiant Car Clubs throughout Australia is to promote their historical importance and to preserve and restore them.

For that reason the combined R&S Valiant Club around Australia hold an R&S National Rally, to showcase these unique and historical motor cars. All owners - whether or not they are members of a car club - are invited to join us on the Rally, to meet other owners, check out other cars, and be part of a unique experience for owners and enthusiasts alike.

Our R&S tour commences in Bendigo on Thursday 6th March 2008 and will take us from Bendigo, to the Port of Echuca, Kyneton and Castlemaine and finishing in Bendigo on Sunday 9th March.

It is anticipated that there will be at least 75 vehicles attending the event with the possibility of several late starters. We have a wide variety of participants from all States of Australia who will be attending and in several cases this will be their first visit to rural Victoria.

Day 2 of the event, Friday 7th March, it is planned that the tour will proceed from Bendigo to Echuca and is scheduled to arrive mid morning and will be parked on display on the Murray Esplanade, Echuca.

Day 3, Saturday 8th March will take us to Kyneton to visit Ivan Smiths car museum then onto Castlemaine where the cars will be on display in the town centre at the Western Reserve, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Day 4 will conclude the tour with the morning being spent at the Bendigo Showgrounds with the cars again on display. At midday we will proceed to Kangaroo Flat Sports club, McKenzie Street, Kangaroo Flat where we will have our farewell luncheon and once again the cars will be on display.
